Blankie for All Seasons

When a dear friend was faced with a big challenge, I translated my feelings into a quilt. This person is a very special soul and a very special person in our lives. I wanted to weave a representation of how our lives had interacted with each other over so many years, but, knowing this person, it had to be connected with whimsy and laughter. I wove translucent ribbons of many colors together and quilted them using a spiderweb pattern ... Here is the result, including the psychedelic kittie fabric on the backside that reminds me so of days long gone when we were young, naive but oh, so confident that we knew exactly how to make our lives go our ways:
